District 39 Automotive is the vision of two skilled and passionate mechanics, Joe and Harvie, who came together with a shared mission: to provide honest, high-quality automotive repair in Oklahoma City. Joe’s journey began at Francis Vo Tech, where he developed a love for fixing cars. Over the years, he worked warehouse jobs, repaired motorcycles, and even ran his own motorcycle shop in his twenties. His experience expanded into the automotive world through positions at a Ford dealership and a decade in the material handling industry, working on forklifts, boom lifts, and Diesel engines. With a mindset of never saying no to a challenge, Joe’s diverse background naturally evolved into the foundation of District 39 Automotive.
Harvie’s expertise dates back to the 1990s when he started restoring classic cars, including a ’49 Ford, a ’53 Chevy, and a ’65 Chevy pickup. His career spanned everything from auto A/C repair and semi-trailer suspension work to crane maintenance, where he mastered electrical diagnostics and cutting-edge technology. Harvie’s deep understanding of electrical systems translated seamlessly into modern vehicle diagnostics. He first met Joe through their mutual work in the mobile repair industry, where their shared values of honesty and integrity set them apart. Seeing the need for a trustworthy repair shop, they combined their expertise to create District 39 Automotive—a place built on community, relationships, and a commitment to putting people over profit.
